Our History Cafe sessions are changing starting in December 2026!
In March, June, September and December our history cafes will be on Sunday afternoons at Renfrew Trinity Church. These events support the 2nd Renfrew Trinity Scouts Memories Cafe.
We will continue to host our regular history cafe Sessions in February, April, May, July, October and November. These events occur at Blend Coffee Lounge in the Paisley Arts Centre, supporting Beatson Cancer Charity.
The 2nd Renfrew Trinty Scouts run montly Memories Cafés in Renfrew Trinity Church Halls for everyone in the community. This includes Scouts, former Scouts, and anyone with a Scout connection, especially those with dementia and their carers. The archive is used as a talking point to bring back memories. If you have no Scout connection, you are also welcome to visit us to see our archive, have a cuppa and a chat, as our history is closely linked to Renfrew’s history.
The quarterly history talks led by the Urban Historian will generally run between 3 and 3.45pm on the 1st Sunday of March, June, September & December, beginning in December 2026. The Memories cafe it’s self runs on the first Sunday of the Month between 2:30 & 4:30pm. There’s no cost for the Cafe, it’s a donation. We’re a community event, which is also dementia friendly, so there’s no reason not to drop in. We look forward to seeing you.
Our first talk will be on Sunday 6th December 2026 3 – 3.45pm when the topic will be “Early Renfrew & its Castles”. This cafe will also be their quarterly fresh-bake Café featuring freshly baked Danish pastries! Please do come along and support the Memories Cafe and #DiscoverRenfrewshire #SeeTheHistoryAroundYou
